Alumni share Homecoming Dinner ‘18 with prominent CEOs

The University of Lahore on April 30, 2018 held an Alumni Homecoming Dinner on which successful young Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) were hosted to share professional expertise with the graduates of the 8th Convocation in a Power Panel Talk format. The event was also meant to reflect on the University’s vision and appreciate out of class learning. The professionally organized huge event targeted graduates of the 8th Convocation whose degrees had been awarded in the morning.

Mr. Saqib Azmat, Director Career Services and Corporate Linkages gave the keynote speech in which he explained how management skills learned during classroom hours will help graduates to excel in professional life.

Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Awais Raoof congratulated the graduates upon their achievements and shared words of wisdom with them. He said, “Doors of UOL will always remain open for you.”

A panel of six young CEOs spiced the day with salient discussions on the topic, What are the key qualities which can enable one stand out from the crowd?”. The young corporates were Mr. Arslan Ahmad (CEO,; Mr. Sayed Hassan Abbas (Head Supply Chain,  Careem Pakistan); Mr. Zeshan Bhutta (Chief Internal Auditor, Maple Leaf Group); Mr. Adeel Makdoomi (CEO, Urban Sourcing); Mr. Faisal Akbar Awan (Co-Founder, Max-Foster); and Mr. Hassan Sahi (CEO, JBA).

The Power Panel Talk that was moderated by Mr. Mustafa Shah, Manager Marketing and Public Relations at UOL spelt out what employers look for in candidates at the time of hiring, the importance of dressing, the relevance of communication skills, and attributes of winning curriculum vitae.  The corporates also shared brief experiences about their companies with the alumni.

The Music Society entertained the audience with melodic performances. The alumni were pleased with the great deal of information about their professional careers that the CEOs provided. Senior managers of the University, academic and non-academic staff also attended.
