The office of Career Services and Corporate Linkages (CSCL) at the University of Lahore, empowers the students to become savvy with the best practices of the corporate world and bringing career opportunities closer. The vision of the Director, Mr. Saqib Azmat, regarding his department is;

In line with the highlighted vision, CSCL department has been conducting a series of activities that were aimed at equipping students with skills that can make them competitive in the job market. CSCL has also brought employers closer to the students by hosting events such as ‘Gateway to Opportunities’ in which corporates held recruitment exercises at UoL.
Career Opportunities Identified
On November 13, 2017, a senior Group Sales Head, Pak-Qatar-Takaful, Mr. Saad Ahmad facilitated as a renowned expert during the career development training for the UoL students. The training covered career opportunities in the diverse job market, ways of searching for jobs and the qualities employers look for in the candidates to hire.
Tips On Job Interviews
All the academic departments of UoL recommend their students for a series of workshops that started on November 28 and ended on December 7, 2017, with an objective of enhancing their professional skills. Ms. Ambreen Jabeen and Ms. Kiran-Alvi trained the students on effective R&D and networking. The duo emphasized how candidates must prepare for job interviews and how to search for information about companies prior to the interview exercise.
Mr. Mustafa Shah of CSCL along with AADI & MAAILA, Creative Directors of Cosmo Salon and stylist guru, Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Quershi conducted the business interview etiquettes’ session. Together these experts worked very closely with students on the importance of dress code, body language, hairstyle, make-up grooming, and the basic interview protocols.
Mr. Mustafa and Ms. Nida conducted mock up interviews that enabled the students to gauge their performance.
UoL students’ icebreaker interaction with HR fraternity
As the year 2017 was coming to an end, the UoL Office of Career Services and Corporate Linkages, availed an opportunity to 20 students from across all academic departments to participate in a youth leadership program (YLP). They met and networked with the best human resources fraternity of Pakistan. Among the notable HR managers, was the Chief Executive Officer, Chairman, and founder of Naseeb Network that runs the famous Rozee.pk.
Vivo Mobile Conducts on Campus Recruitment
In a campaign dabbed ‘Gateway to opportunity’ On January 9, 2018, Vivo Mobiles, world’s 5th largest smart phone manufacturing company, held an on-campus recruitment drive at the UoL Main Campus. CSCL organized the event that brought employment opportunities closer to students. Vivo’s choice of UoL was based on the professional training that the university offers to its students. Vivo’s Director Human Resources, Mr. Syed Shah Mohammed with his team were present to conduct on-campus interviews of cherry-picked graduates for their Management Training Program.
