University of Lahore, Gujrat Campus, Department of Medical Imaging Doctor (MID) arranged a free Ultrasound and Medical camp in Baniya, Gujrat under the supervision of Dr. Abid Ali (HoD Allied Health Sciences), Ms. Sabahat Hamayoun, Dr. M Ahmad Naeem, Ms. Romaisa Sultan, Mr. Akash John, Ms. Iqra Shoaib and Dr. Sobia Arham for the practical training of MID students.
The camp screened more than 100 patients and their frequent complaints were non-specific abdominal pain, liver diseases, diabetes, hypertension, and UTI. Students were exposed to sonographic techniques while scanning the patients. Many cases of normal anatomic variants such as retrograde uterus, renal column of Bertin and common anomalies like lower pole renal cyst, pelvic inflammatory disease, polycystic ovaries, fibroid uterus, acute liver disease and chronic liver disease were diagnosed.
The residents of Baniya village appreciated the camp effort which provided free medical services. MID students also gained practical exposure outside their classrooms with patients.
