Nigerian Senator and philanthropist, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko jetted into Pakistan April 13, to discuss educational prospects with top management of the University of Lahore (UOL) and the special group of 25 Nigerian students under his direct sponsorship.
He expressed gratitude to the University administration for its selfless services and urged students to tap into this by exceling academically as well as effectively representing Nigeria as its roving ambassadors.
Speaking to the Senator, the Chairman BoG, Mr. Awais Raoof, recognized his philanthropism as a positive gesture of generosity. He added, “The Nigerians students are hardworking and among the best students of their respective departments.” He assured him that Pakistan is a home to every Nigerian in recognition of the mutual respect between the two countries. UOL organized a memorable dinner in the honor of the Legislator. Students awarded a souvenir to him as an appreciation.
The visitor had closed sessions with Patron-in-Chief, M.A. Raoof and Chairman, BoG. He visited several historical places in Pakistan including the Wagha Border.
