The Departments of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in collaboration with Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Gujrat campus recently (Spring 2018) organized a fruitful Faculty Development Workshop (FDW) for their faculty members. Dr. Arham Shabbir, the Pharmacy HoD and chief organizer of the event handled two interactive sessions on “Effective Lecture Preparation and Delivery” and “Class Room Management“. In the two sessions, he emphasized the importance of holding the listener’s interest; relating the lecture with historical and current market situation; motivating the learners regarding their career; and allowing learners to always ask questions for issues requiring clarification.
Dr. Shabbir told faculty members to always provide lecture notes and book chapters to students and align course materials with the objectives of the courses. During the workshop, faculty members were encouraged to share their class room experiences and management, an aspect that made the event more interactive. Participants showed commitment towards applying the knowledge gained during workshop.
