On March 12, 2018, the International Conference on Medical Education (ICME)-Ottawa joint conference was held in Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC). The event almost attracted more than 1,000 participants from around the world. UOL College of Medicine and Dentistry (UCMD) actively participated in the conference with five papers and one workshop.
Dr. Mahwish Arooj, Vice Principal, University College of Medicine (UCM), DME Senior Lecturers Dr. Tayyaba Azhar and Dr. Kinza Aslam where in Abu Dhabi to represent UOL. Dr. Mahwish presented a paper on “Impact of assessment tools on learning approaches”.
Dr. Tayyaba delivered two papers; first on “How well did I do? Students’ self-evaluation of a Problem based learning session” and the second was on “Self-Directed learning readiness and its effect on PBL Performance in undergraduate students of UCMD”.
Dr. Kinza articulated on “Analyzing the teaching skills of interns to assess the quality of teaching” and also presented a poster in the conference. Dr. Tayyaba and Dr. Kinza co-facilitated a workshop on Team Based Learning at the same event.
