Human Resource is a well-established Department at The University of Lahore to serve and facilitate the most important asset “Employees”. It strives to ensure that a diverse, innovative and competent workforce is recruited, optimally developed and retained to keep the organization on cutting edge. It believes that the Human Resource Department’s function is to serve the best interests of both employees and the University.
As the UOL workforce and system expands, the department tends to be challenged. However, it swiftly embraces these challenges proactively to explore the world of possibilities. The department is responsible for employee recruitment and selection; orientation and onboarding, payroll processing, policies development and implementation. Additionally, it handles employee performance management, training and professional development, grievances, discipline and separation management along with other operational activities.
With the above in mind, the department believes that employee orientation and onboarding is one of the most essential functions of HR department. Previously, employees’ orientation sessions used to be conducted in collaboration with HR Consultant Team. This year (2018), the trend has changed. The department is conducting these sessions independently.
